Online Communications Assistant - Intranets & CMS - Leading Oil and Gas Company

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for an Online Communications Assistant join the digital marketing team of one of the world's biggest brands where learning and growth opportunities are encouraged. This role would suit someone who is keen to progress in a digital role.

You will be joining a team of 4 in managing internal online communications for Marketing, Sales and Key Accounts.

Accountabilities:

The Internal Online Communications Assistant will contribute to the development and execution of the internal communication strategy for Marketing, Sales and Key Accounts by:

  • Working with business focal points to design and deliver Intranet content to engage and excite employees - 60% of role
  • Introducing, designing and developing online tools that will support employees to be work smarter' - 10% of role
  • Tracking and reporting channel use against a set of success measures, number of views, number of subscribers to news channels, number of video plays etc - 10% of role
  • Organising virtual learning sessions to educate employees on availability of tools - 10% of role
  • Other Activities (10%)
  • Attending meetings to advise internal customers on online communication opportunities.
  • Helping to maintain knowledge management channels; asset repositories, internal wiki etc
  • Producing professional looking presentation material

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level preferably with study in IT, Communications or Digital
  • 2-3 years working in IT, Digital or Communications function for a large organisation
  • Intranet and/or Internet publishing experience - SharePoint
  • Good understanding of online communication tools ( intranets, wikis, social media, etc)
  • Intermediate Photoshop skills and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint essential)
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility in day-to-day activities and ability to multitask are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people from varied backgrounds

Key competences:

  • Excellent communication, writing and project/stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Photoshop or graphic design skills
  • HTML experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working with SharePoint and Yammer working within a large sized organisation
  • A creative and innovative self-starter, resilient and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
