Web Specialist - Life Cycle Sustainment, CSS, Dreamweaver, SQL, Visual Basic, C

A Web Specialist with development and CSS experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence business.

Overview of the Web Specialist contract role

Working in a small team & reporting to the MIS manager, this position will assist in developing and maintaining Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) contract web systems for the Spares program. The role will work directly with the UK and USA IT teams and the UK Manage Asset team to develop an on-going solution for the sustainability of the specific program.

Key skills required for the Web Specialist

  • The ideal candidate should preferably be qualified to degree level or have comparable further educational qualifications or have 5 years of experience in a computer or graphic based environment.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work well in a small team and help provide support whenever required.
  • Good planning, time management and organization skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work with existing software system in conjunction with senior applications engineer.
  • Streamline, automate and adapt existing systems and processes ready for delivery to the web based environment.
  • Have a good working knowledge of current web based tool eg Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, SQL, Visual Basic, C and a sound knowledge of CSS is required.
  • The ability to analyze and document LCS process.
  • Ensure that information meets all Import/Export Compliance.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
