Description

We are looking for a User Researcher to help us push our digital services forward while keeping some traditional ones open. We are working on establishing new ways of doing things, placing user needs at the heart of this, and prioritising digital channels.

You will be working as part of a design and development team, and with service leads and managers. Through your work, you will help to identify the problems we need to solve related to user needs. You will then support the process of designing and developing concepts, prototypes, nearly-there products and on-going improvements to meet these needs.

This will include planning site structures, user journeys, and working to get great content produced (a lot of our service IS content, so it would be great if you have some experience of that process). You will also get the chance to research and improve complete user journeys around the key service areas we are looking at.

With support from the UX team here, you will be expected to plan your own research, design, testing and facilitate relevant workshops. We're a small team so you will also be happy to muck in where needed.

You will have a range of methods and tools that you like to use for prototyping. Having some HTML/CSS skills for prototyping would be a bonus, or something you may be keen to pick up.

Requirements:

  • Experience of being in a UX role delivering user focused digital products and services.

  • Practical application and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

  • Some experience of planning and running all types of test sessions.

  • Confidence to work in a senior-stakeholder facing role.

  • Ability to persuade people to think from the users point of view using the evidence you gather.

  • Be able to problem-solve with your team to create viable solutions.

  • Experience of turning research into actionable information that successfully guides and influences end products.

Desirable:

  • A relevant degree

  • Copywriting

The rate for this role is dependent on experience up to a maximum of £380per day.
