Description

A Front End Developer is required to work within an in-house .net web-development team. The team is in the process of transitioning the local authority's existing website to a fully mobile-responsive web-platform. This is a long programme of work to improve existing online council services for residents and introduce a number of new services so that the web/mobile channel becomes the preferred means of contact for residents and the costs of operating existing channels can be reduced.

The Front End developer will be working within a development team whose stack primarily consists of responsive web, sitecore cms, .net, SQL Server and browser-based testing using selenium and n-unit.

Local authority experience is not essential but an understanding of public sector culture will be beneficial.

Essential Skills:

- Excellent HTML5, LESS and JQuery skills
- troubleshooting and debugging in browsers like chrome
- Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like knockout and angular
- Good understanding of Web Accessibility
- Experience working with version control preferably git
- Experience of setting up local IIS websites and deployment
- Must have experience of Visual Studio
- CMS experience is essential, preferred is Sitecore
- Experience of Node.js and grunt

Other attributes:
- Experience of Agile development methods ie Scrum and/or Kanban
- Self Starter
- Collaborative and willing to self-organise
- At least five years professional experience

The rate for this role is dependent on experience up to a maximum of £425 per day.
