We are seeking a senior Java developer for an assignment with a major organisation based in Newcastle. This role will work on the Integration in house team using Apache Camel, Active Apache MQ, Apache. You will be building new integration components from the ground up using a range of development tools and languages and create these systems using the AGILE approach involving test driven delivery and continuous integration methods.
Your skills and experience should include;
Strong Java programming experience, Node-JS and an understanding of Front End languages like HTML5, XHTML, CSS or JavaScript.,
Familiarity with the Apache integration product set and a Micro service architecture
Familiarity with Extreme Programming methodology or a desire to learn and embrace it - likewise general Agile and Lean development techniques.
Experience or willingness to help more junior developers learn and develop via pair programming.
Knowledge of application development methods across the complete life cycle.
Experience of using version control systems like Subversion or Git.
A good understanding of Test Driven Design and Business Driven Design.
An ability to code from scratch, rather than tweak and improve existing work.
A current SC level security clearance is desirable but candidates who are eligible will be considered. Note that you will need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years in order to obtain this.
