Description
Electrical Project EngineerA Global Renewable Energy client, specialising within Offshore/Onshore Wind Operations, is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Engineer.
Principal Accountabilities
- Project expert for electrical systems (principally for Offshore Sub-Station)
- Co-ordination of all work package specific tasks, external and within the Clients' operation. Collaboration with other departments (procurement, operations, logistics, etc.) and key stakeholder relationships (partners, regulatory authorities, GL)
- Negotiate electrical technologies with suppliers
- Ensuring quality of the work package as well as HSE standards
- Management of consultant subcontractors
- Liaison with the site team & project quality team to ensure design compliance
Skills & Experience
Essential
- University degree or comparable graduate education in electrical engineering or automation
- Chartered Electrical Engineer
- Experience in project management of offshore wind or similar energy industry projects
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, able to drive innovative and strategic thinking
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively within a multicultural project team
- English fluent speaking/writing
- Strong co-ordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
- Willing to travel frequently
Knowledge of
- Switchgears GIS, AIS (LV, MV, HV)
- Transformers (dry, oil-, for LV, MV, HV)
- Cables (LV, MV, HV, fibre optic, signal cable)
- Establishing specifications for related electrical equipment and services
- Basic understanding of SCADA/HMI and Remote Control Systems
Familiar with
- Offshore transmission substations design and construction
- Cable design and installation at 132kV and below
- Management of subcontractors incl. claim management
