Position Summary:My client is looking for a high-calibre candidate to join their ranks. They operate out of Dartford and produce world class fire detection and control panels.
The applicant should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced and busy development.
The applicant should be as a minimum degree qualified or equivalent in electronics or a relevant subject, with a good general education. The applicant should be familiar with a variety of development tools, with the ability to code on at least two different 32-bit microcontroller families, apply Linux on embedded systems, code in assembler and C/C++ as a minimum.Must have:
- Experience developing and supporting real-time embedded systems in a Linux environment
- Excellent knowledge of C, C++ language programming on Embedded Linux system
- Experience developing embedded Linux systems using community tools.
- Familiarity with the Linux kernel. Linux device driver or core kernel development
- Some understanding hardware/embedded system designs
- Understanding of distributed systems and data structures, both in design and implementation
- Linux Inter-Process Communications (shared memory, semaphore, FIFO)
- Software Configuration Management with SVN
- Experience with user interface development toolkits like Qt, GTK within an embedded platform
- Experience with more specific ARM Core processors
- Experience in device drivers, networking stacks.
- EN54: Fire detection and fire alarm systems standards
- ISO9001 Quality Practices
- DEGREE/HND in a relevant or closely related subject plus minimum 5 years in software development environment.
