My client an IT Services organisation based in London requires a Commercial Legal Advisor who speaks fluent German.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualified UK or German Solicitor, or equivalent with demonstrable experience of German contract drafting, negotiating and finalisation.
- Previous Experience Required: Between 0 and 3 years' PQE and will have gained considerable experience with IT contracts
- Specialist Knowledge: German law degree or higher Demonstrable ability to draft and negotiate English and German legal IT contracts (preferably fluent German speaker). An understanding of the differences between waterfall and agile IT contracts is preferable.
Description of Project:
The Commercial Legal Advisor's work includes the drafting & negotiating of bespoke commercial agreements for all types of IT services including consulting, software development, systems integration, application management, website management, infrastructure implementation, outsourcing and managed services.
Main duties:
The key responsibilities and activities for this role include:
Drafting/Negotiation/Vetting commercial contracts & NDA's mainly focussing on Germany and UK jurisdictions
Ensuring adequate commercial and legal protection is put in place with the companies' customers and suppliers
Providing information and education (where required) about legal risks in proposed contracts and business solutions
Provision of ad-hoc legal advice on various legal issues to the teams in Germany and UK, including contract law, Acquired Rights Directive, Intellectual Property, etc.
Support in tender response
Occasional interaction with external counsel
Keeping German template contracts up-to-date
Co-ordination of contract review & sign-off process
