Financial Analyst/Modeller - Edinburgh - 6 months +

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst/Modeller for an initial 6 months contract based in Edinburgh with a public sector client.

Candidates will be expected to be primarily responsible for providing analytical, reporting and planning support for a high profile and challenging business transformation project. The successful candidate will be required to be a self-starter, extremely proactive and able to identify and quantify business transformation efficiencies and recommend viable solutions.

Essential skills -

  • Degree educated (minimum 2:1) in Finance or related discipline
  • Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience
  • Demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of key financial deliverables
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skills
  • Understanding of financial ratios and how to apply them to financial modelling
  • Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel including Pivots, sumifs, vlookups, VBA, complex Embedded formulas etc.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with building and using financial models

Desirable skills -

  • Experience of working within a fast paced project environment
  • A successful track record operating at a senior level with excellent leadership and project and programme management skills.

Demonstrable ability to engage and influence stakeholders at the highest levelCandidates will be expected to hold a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland or be happy to apply for one.
