Description

The Kim Komando Show is seeking an experienced, in-house PHP developer to work on public and corporate projects. This position involves creating and customizing our blogging and e-commerce applications as well as other office tools and other projects. Additionally, you will write and test custom PHP code for a variety of other core functions.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in the entire software development life-cycle, including: requirements, design, development, testing and deployment. Ideally, you’ve also experenced Agile and SCRUM project work flows.

This position is full time, located in our Phoenix, Arizona studios with hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We offer a fun, friendly environment with full benefits and a competitive salary.

The average day starts with a short meeting to discuss the day’s priority changes, if any. Questions are fielded and any blocking tasks or requirements are identified and either resolved or requested to be resolved if they can only be resolved externally. You will then design or program the features or fix any bugs based on your assigned tickets. Questions among your co-workers are encouraged. If the question is too complicated, it can be elevated to management for a recommendation for a course of action. Once the feature is completed, the ticket is updated, the feature is tested, QA’ed, and moved to production. About half way through the day, another short meeting is held to ensure that all blockers are resolved on time.
