DevOps Engineer - Linux - Ubuntu - Unix - Redhat - Jenkins - Puppet - Cloud - VMware - OpenNebula - OpenSource
Our world renowned Broadcast Client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to haveprimary responsibility for all levels of support, maintenance and development of the Unix and Linux infrastructure. You will also provide assistance to the other areas of the team where the Unix/Linux systems meet with the Mac OS and Windows systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Key member of the team responsible for the Unix/Linux Server infrastructure and systems
- Maintenance and development of new systems and tools as required by the department
- Expose areas of the system via web interfaces to allow more 'self service' options for end users
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with current versions of Debian, Centos (RedHat) and Ubuntu Linux
- Solid experience and working knowledge of automation such as Make, Puppet and Jenkins
- Experience with build, distribution, installation and maintenance of Open Source tools. This could include the ability to compile your own packages from source
- Good understanding of virtualisation and cloud technologies such as OpenStack, OpenNebula, VMWare, KVM
- Hands-on experience with system monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Cacti and MRTG
- Shell Scripting knowledge (bash/ksh/sh) is a must but and any other languages like Perl, Python C/C++ and PHP would be advantageous.
