IT Infrastructure Architect
Within the department IT Infrastructure Services and the Solution Design & Implementation (SDI) Team, the IT Infrastructure Architect addresses the end-to-end solution architecture and design for business and cross-technology projects, focusing on both functional and non-functional requirements. The IT Infrastructure Architect works in full relationship with project managers, sponsors and stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical, process- and tooling-related solution specifications. He/she ensures a proper participation in project intake, scoping, conception and further follow-up.

Functional requirements
. Assess the end-to-end impact on technical infrastructure and processes of company project proposals.
. Interact with project sponsors and project managers to refine project objectives, budget and cost-benefit analysis.
. Interact with experts from delivery teams regarding the translation of business requirements into technical solution specifications.
. Design and document technical solution strategies and architectures fulfilling complex business requirements.
. Interact with experts from support teams regarding the definition and application of non-functional requirements for the solution to be developed (including alarming, end-to-end service monitoring, business continuity & disaster/recovery, documentation, quality, performance management, support partners, service level agreements).
. Provide input regarding the evolution of technological platforms, and contribute to the definition and evolution of appropriate technological strategies and roadmaps.
Technical skills and Experience
. 6-10 years of experience in one or several domains:
. Active participation in project design, architecture, scoping, sizing and requirements analysis, preferably in a large infrastructure base
. Knowledge of Database design (including clustering, high-availability, replication, &), Middleware technologies (application Servers, service bus, &)
. Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies, and ability to apply these to architectural needs
. Enterprise systems and applications (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, etc)
. UNIX, SAN, Clustering, Network, Virtualisation & Consolidation, Load balancing, Cloud, etc
. Broad knowledge of Network & Security landscape, together with interactions with IT platforms
. Knowledge and experience in project management and methodologies
Non-technical skills & competencies
. On site, in Belgium
. Fluent English (oral + written), good Dutch & French skills
. Knowledge of financial topics, including project cost structure, investments, operational costs
. Presentation & trainer skills
. Others: entrepreneurship, initiative-taking, result-orientation, problem-solving, priority setting, information & reporting, negotiation skills.
