Description
This role is with one of the largest publishing providers in Ireland. They are looking for a Senior Front End developer to join the Dublin based team. You will work closely with the direct project manager to lead the team - designing and implementing a new in and innovative in-house publishing tool.
You will be fully responsible for Front End development, working with current Front End technologies. Must be passionate about delivering the best user experience possible and have experience in executing rapidly from concept to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write new and reusable, fully documented HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3 web applications for both browser and native apps
Produce clear, concise documentation including schemas and flow diagrams for all solutions
Discuss and understand interfaces/designs; develop and present new ideas/innovations; fast efficient delivery of "proof of concept" demos/prototypes.
Advise, guide and assist with the implementation of an efficient QA Test process, reviewing and sometimes writing QA Test Scripts.
Guide the Commissioning and Product Teams in terms of what is possible, from a technical perspective.
Collaborate with the in-house Instructional Designers (ID) and Graphic Designers (GD) to develop inspiring, pedagogically correct, web applications based on a dynamic template approach including:
odefining and agreeing the Front End application designs
oprototyping and building multiple reusable components
oensuring the high volume publication process is refined and efficient
Work with the in-house technical resource to ensure seamless integration of deliveries with existing platform (.NET).
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Must haves
6+ years excellent hands on experience in HTML5 and CSS3 required
JavaScript programming, DOM manipulation and XML
Experience leading the development of mid/large-scale web applications
Experience evaluating and selecting appropriate libraries/frameworks/tools for each project based on maturity and maintainability
Proficient understanding of Server Side development (.NET a bonus)
Other desirable skills:
Experience in RESTful services development
Proficient understanding of code versioning/source control tools, such as Github
Proficient understanding of Server Side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Experience in Gaming sector
Agile/Scrum experience
.NET exposure a plus
