Department overview

Human Resources is responsible for attracting, developing, motivating and rewarding talented people across Barclays. The Investment Bank is one of Barclays' Core Businesses, and receives HR support from global Business Partners (based in London, New York and various locations in Asia) as well as Centres of Excellence and HR Operations.

The Investment Bank HR Leadership Team comprises Heads of HR for Banking, Global Markets, and Research; as well as the HR Director's Office (Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer) and representatives from Employee Relations; International Mobility; Leadership, Learning & Talent; Reward; Resourcing.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide support to the IB HR Chief of Staff
  • Develop and deliver HR communication materials, working with stakeholders to deliver timely, targeted, creative and effective communication
  • Produce Board-quality PowerPoint presentations
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of IB HR engagement plan
  • Manage logistics for IB HR leadership events (Town Halls, global calls, etc)
  • Stakeholder management: build strong relationships with IB HR senior leaders and colleagues and Group HR and communication colleagues
  • Draft and deliver editorial content for IB HR Intranet; maintain/update Intranet pages
  • Coordination of IB HR Leadership meetings and strategic onsites including agenda and minutes
  • Support for projects and change initiatives

Person requirements

Essential

  • Experience working with a large national or global corporate organisation
  • Experience in an internal/project communication role
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Confident using MS Office (especially PowerPoint) and SharePoint
  • Understanding of HR operating models (Business Partners, Centres of Excellence, etc.) and HR activity

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a Chief of Staff office
  • HR communication experience or consultancy experience
  • Financial services experience
  • Change management

  • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, team player with excellent writing skills, keen eye for detail, strong relationship management skills and interest in HR communication
