My fortune 500 client in Mount Laurel, NJ is looking for a Database Developer (SQL & Python & ETL) for long term contract opportunity.
Summary
This position is responsible for delivering capacity data related to various aspects of the clients IP and HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) Network, and supporting regularly scheduled reports.
In addition to this, as required, this person will be responsible for creating and delivering ad-hoc capacity analyses that will require a comprehensive understanding of the clients IP and HFC network and a proficiency using SQL, Hadoop, .NET and/or Python.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect data for Capacity Planning's database infrastructure from different environment such as SQL, Oracle, and Hadoop.
- Deliver accurate and complete capacity reports to Platform Engineering Services and Deployment Engineering management, Corporate/Finance and Division Capacity teams per defined schedules.
- Create and deliver scheduled capacity reports and automate processes for sustained reports.
- Create dashboards to monitor utilization behavior and changes in product/service distribution across the Comcast network.
- Maintain historic capacity data and deliver data packages based on requirements.
- Work closely with the Capacity Planning Analysis team to automate repeatable processes to improve data processing and reporting efficiencies.
Education
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a database development and software development role.
- Ideal candidate will have worked 5 or more years on database development, data querying and data mining environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python is a prerequisite. Expert in building codes based on given requirements. Proficient in building packages and automating processes.
- Strong knowledge in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) using SSIS and Pentaho, handling large amounts of data.
- Proficient in Unix environments and Hadoop.
- Web Programming using Asp.NET, VB.NET, C#, Web Service (WCF), Javascript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, XML and IIS is a plus.
- Experience in End-to-End network performance.
- Proficient in Data integration, database design and administration.
- Proficient in Database backup/restore and data recovery.
