Data Design Lead
Duration: Initial 6 months
Location: Glasgow
EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria Recruitment Ltd (a Sopra Steria company) provides recruitment and resourcing solutions to Sopra Steria, a leading European IT service provider.
Sopra Steria requires a Data Design Lead for an initial 6 month contract based in Glasgow, onsite for one of our financial services Clients.
Sopra Steria requires the Data Design Lead to assist our team to help drive forward the establishment of our Clients enterprise architecture, specifically the technology architecture.
The Data Design Lead is required to support the Data Architect in developing and driving the design and implementation of the Business Intelligence Strategy for our Client. Furthermore, the Data Design Lead will support the Data Architect in defining and implementing the procedures and processes by which data architecture is maintained.
Data Design Lead Essential Skills:
Solid experience in Datamodelling and data designincluding some or all of:
- Entity-Relationship Modelling
- Object-Oriented Analysis and Design/Object Modelling
- Object/Relational Mapping
- Database Design
- Normalisation/Denormalisation techniques
- Data Warehouse design and implementation
- ETL Tools
Data Design Lead Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Agile methodologies (TDD, SCRUM, Kanban, etc)
- Knowledge of TOGAF methodologies and Archimate modelling language
- Experience of working with relational and non-relational (or no SQL ) databases
- Experience organising and performing prototyping and proof of concepts
- Experience using and deploying on Cloud-based platforms
- Ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques
- Experience building Server Side web applications and detailed knowledge of more than one programming language (we use a range of languages including Java, Clojure, JavaScript & Ruby)
- An ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Experience working on technical projects within a team
- Working knowledge of unix-like operating systems such as Linux and/or Mac OS X
The successful candidate must be willing to undergo a security clearance process.
