Skype for Business Specialist - Edinburgh - 6 months
Our Edinburgh based client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Skype for Business Specialist for an initial 6 month contract.
The successful candidate will:
* Take on the duties of Technical lead for this part of the Digital Transformation Strategy.
* Undertake discovery tasks to inform design activities
* Create high level and low level designs taking into account user and technical requirements
* Deliver Skype for Business functionality to staff through their existing desktops/laptops
* Deliver full enterprise voice capability to staff through the Skype platform
* Ensure transparent integration with existing Mitel phone system across both sites and with public telephone network
* Ensure design and resulting platform is sufficiently robust, resilient, and scalable for needs
* Ensure needs of specialist users are met (e.g. Reception staff, Customer Services, service desk etc.)
* Ensure full Microsoft stack integration (e.g. Exchange)
* Deliver internet connected functionality in order to allow collaboration with our partners and customers
* Monitor, manage and where necessary improve performance of the platform to meet the expectations of the end-users
* Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for the platform are created and tested
* Managing workloads using Kanban techniques and/or other team defined methodologies
* Managing server and application, health, and integrity to an acceptable level
* Create and maintain system documentation as appropriate (e.g. MS Visio diagrams, system admin docs and local work instructions (LWI))
* Ensure all software applications and virtual server instances are being backed up
* Ensure archiving procedures function correctly
Essential Skills
* Must have experience deploying, managing, optimising, and administering Microsoft Skype for Business in an Enterprise Voice environment
* Experience designing robust, resilient and reliable Skype for Business deployments replacing traditional PABX phone systems
* Experience performing full system tuning including servers, application, network, and client device
* Experience of establishing appropriate security to the solution e.g. SSO, two factor authentication
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge and experience of VFQ/Agile techniques including Kanban
* Knowledge and experience of administering one or more of:
* Mitel PBX phone systems
* Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
* Experience of private cloud converged infrastructures
* Knowledge and experience of Mobile Device Management and Quest Active Roles
