The role of the Market Insight Specialist is to create and deliver valued added market research and competitor intelligence for Retail activities.

The Market Insight Specialist will work in partnership with Distribution teams Proposition Managers, Product Specialists and Investment Communications Specialists to provide robust research to help define the positioning and USPs.

The Market Insight Specialist will be responsible for keeping up-to-date with the commercial competitive environment of products and capabilities, with a view to enhancing the potential success of the business.

The Market insight Specialist will also focus on building customer insight and understanding. The role typically involves a balance between the management of data on external databases and delivering in-depth research to internal clients.

Key Post Accountabilities

Provide regular performance/peer group reporting on competitor products using Lipper, Morningstar or similar. To include market research and analysis on strategies and funds and competitor's products (eg monitor and analyse the competitive attractiveness and economics of products relative to competitor products and produce regular competitive analysis reports to support these findings.)

Provide support and pro-active information to internal departments, by providing research and advice for on-going projects within Distribution, Product Development and Marketing and support senior management with research for business planning.

Prepare regular reports to meet business needs summarising key market and competitor activity, including fund launches, strategy/objective/team changes, competitor sales and marketing activity, monitor and report on international market trends in the institutional, DC and Retail markets.

Analyse market research (both purchased and publically available) and produce reports with key findings and conclusions that are relevant and useful to the business.

Work as part of a team responding to the needs of the company - supporting the development of strategic marketing content, supporting colleagues throughout the international organisation.
