Financial Controller, Disclosures, Broad Product Range, Banking, 6 months, London
Tier One Investment Bank is looking to appoint a Financial Controller with knowledge of all product classes to join a major transformation project to work with Disclosures and their integration within Reporting. The role is based in London on a 6 month contract
The team you will join sits within their Chief Financial Office acts both as a control function and a valued business advisor by providing expertise across
- Business Unit Finance
- Price Verification
- Legal Entity Control
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Corporate Reporting
- Capital Planning/Regulatory Reporting
- Finance Infrastructure
The role is being created as part of a change program which will introduce new tools to the users allowing for consolidation of results and driving efficiencies with Disclosures programme focusing upon gap analysis.
The role will involve
- Identify the list of all disclosures by preparer, reviewer, submitter, Line of Business, Legal Entity, Frequency of submission, deadline, recipient, etc.
- Summarise the analysis to be able to identify the Most Valuable Product(MVP)
- Engage with Finance leadership and build consensus on approach and decision
- Deconstruct the MVP for its building blocks by coordinating with all stakeholders
- Reconstruct MVP using inputs from the data set within the transformation program
- Identify gaps, if any, which prevents reconstruction of MVP
- Socialise and resolve the gaps within agreed timeline to enable MVP reconstruction
- Prepare a Business requirements document for the technology team to automate MVP
Skills we look for
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to build and use spreadsheets
- Comfortable working on new platforms to retrieve and analyze data
- Experience in working with technology teams and users alike.
- Exposure to and knowledge of the various disclosures applicable to Global Markets
- Methodical, detailed and comfortable working to a strict deadline
Essential Skills
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to build and use spreadsheets
- Experience of working on firm deadlines
- Data mining
