Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an Infrastructure Specialist with solid skills within BACKUP AND RESTORE
Our client requires an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their rapidly growing team.
Key responsibilities include:
Skilled in MS SQL Server 2008 and 2012, understanding of SQL Server backup and restore options. Practical understanding of database objects such as indexes, triggers, stored procedures, Transact-SQL etc.
Skilled in ETL processes (SSIS), understanding of SQL job packages in production, development/test environments.
Understand server security administration.
Database design, implementation and support
Manage, plan and implement regular database administration processes
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
Experience in managing Installations, Upgrades, Service Packs, Patch Management and Scheduling Jobs, Database Migrations, Configuration and Maintenance.
Experience in Mirroring, Clustering and Disaster Recovery Strategies.
Resolving issues of customer in 24/7 production environment
Ensure releases are implemented following proven release and deployment process
Additional project information:
Carry out infrastructure delivery tasks as agreed in SoW
Produce detailed design, configuration specification, deployment procedure, administration guides (run books) as required
Develop required deployment and/or configuration scripts
Implement the required infrastructure changes in PTE environment
Build new environments as required
Package all required documentation, scripts, configuration specifications ready for hand over to.* Test Desk and/or Production support teams for implementing in downstream environments
Support.* Test Desk and/or Production support teams to implement in downstream environments
Take remedial actions for troubleshooting infrastructure and environment issues (defects, incidents, queries)
Produce detailed design, configuration specification, deployment procedure, administration guides (run books) as required -See OpAM. RedHat, Oracle DB and Middleware, Oracle E-commerce.
Develop required deployment and/or configuration scripts -Deployment of infra changes and config changes. Mostly using OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for the scripts.
Build new environments as required -See OpAM. Mainly Linux RedHat. Mix of Physical and Virtual. Understanding of building new environments would be good
Package all required documentation, scripts, configuration specifications ready for hand over to Test Desk and/or Production support teams for implementing in downstream environments - General collection, and not application packaging.
