Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a Shell Scripting specialist.
The successful candidate will have strong Linux and Shell Scripting skills, exceptional client facing experience ideally from a vendor or consulting firm.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Consultant will Drive complex deployments of the core offerings while working side by side with the customer to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases
- Collaborate across the entire organization to bring access to product and technical teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from customer input
- Enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own
- Recent experience working with large customers and managing enterprise software deployment projects
- Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications
- Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and how these relate to the customer's business
- Able to quickly understand and interpret customer problems and navigate complex organizations
- Effective at communicating clearly to technical and business audiences
Technical Knowledge and Experience
- Strong Linux/Unix Experience with good Shell Scripting
- Python, Perl, JavaScript or PowerShell an advantage
- Onsite client facing experience.
Carry out infrastructure delivery tasks as agreed in SoW
Produce detailed design, configuration specification, deployment procedure, administration guides (run books) as required
Develop required deployment and/or configuration scripts
Implement the required infrastructure changes in PTE environment
Build new environments as required
Package all required documentation, scripts, configuration specifications ready for hand over to.* Test Desk and/or Production support teams for implementing in downstream environments
Support.* Test Desk and/or Production support teams to implement in downstream environments
Take remedial actions for troubleshooting infrastructure and environment issues (defects, incidents, queries)
Produce detailed design, configuration specification, deployment procedure, administration guides (run books) as required - See OpAM. RedHat, Oracle DB and Middleware, Oracle E-commerce.
Develop required deployment and/or configuration scripts - Deployment of infra changes and config changes. Mostly using OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for the scripts.
Build new environments as required - See OpAM. Mainly Linux RedHat. Mix of Physical and Virtual. Understanding of building new environments would be good
Package all required documentation, scripts, configuration specifications ready for hand over to Test Desk and/or Production support teams for implementing in downstream environments - General collection, and not application packaging.
