Profile

The Products, Credit Risk Manager reports to the Head of Retail Unsecured Credit Risk and is responsible for managing credit risk (within governance, policy and control frameworks), as well as proposing specific product related initiatives across a specific unsecured portfolio.

Key Requirements

Key to the role is the ability work with and influence key stakeholders across Personal and Business Banking (including Unsecured Products, Distribution, Finance and Risk) - in particular to drive Credit Risk's agenda and influence products. The role holder will be required to develop credit initiatives and policies that are within the bank's prudential and conduct requirements, in addition to driving more streamlined and consistent customer experiences.

Role Profile:

  • Degree level or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years experience in credit risk/financial risk management.
  • Highly numerate demonstrated through practical experience and/or academic qualification.
  • A clear track record in analytics with prior experience in SAS, SQL, Excel or similar.
  • A relevant professional or management qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to be able to analyse complex credit matters in any Bank business and identify material credit risk issues in order to simplify and create risk management solutions.
  • Knowledge of risk management and control processes appropriate to a financial services environment.
  • Detailed understanding of risk management processes particularly credit strategy development.
  • Broad understanding of external regulations and their impact on the business.
  • Good understanding of regulatory regimes and authorities within which the sector operates.
  • Good understanding of Retail banking, strong project management skills, broad knowledge of technology issues from a business perspective.
