Description
We are looking for a mobile site surveyor to carry out IT site surveys in Scotland at various locations, in preparation for an IT upgrade project. The surveys will be completed using a tablet and workflow application. This is a complex and satisfying role for someone with an eye for detail who can hit the ground running.
The role is anticipated to last for ten weeks, from 21 March, plus initial induction. This is a contract role, so you will need to have a limited company or use an umbrella company. Security clearance will be required and we will arrange this for the successful candidate.
You will need to be able to drive and have use of a car, as significant travel will be required, as well as a degree of flexibility.
Role responsibilities
You will be required to complete online IT Site Surveys with branch and Server/Communications room data. Branch data would include information such as the number of users and user data (devices, desk space, cabling etc). Server/communications room data would include information such as connectivity, identification of network elements eg switch, Router, remote access or out of band equipment or any other device, number of occupied and available ports in each switch or hub Connectivity between Switches or hubs, and the identification of UPS or power stabilization systems and WiFi equipment and server, desktop and laptop devices and peripherals.
Experience and knowledge needed

Windows 7 Office 2010 project experience

Good technical understanding of principles involved and the ability to translate this into non-technical language
