Solution Architect is required by a leading technology organisation.

Project Description:

Client is looking for Solution Architect resources to support projects such as network QoS and speed improvements, Customer Self-Serve Notification and Preferences, Service Assurance Tool for IP Services, External Vendor Access Control (within corporate and security guidelines) and others.

The Solution Architect will be responsible for:

Develop and maintain the application architecture for specific business projects in compliance with the enterprise architecture direction.

Collaborate with Business Analysts and implementation teams to ensure solution design is aligned with business principles, project needs and strategic objectives. Provide oversight on the architecture and design of systems within a given project scope in consideration of all four (4) architecture domains (Process, Data, Application, Infrastructure) and adherence to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Participate in the development of target conceptual and logical architectures for applications. Participate in project and design reviews to evaluate and ensure that the design being created meets policies, principles, and standards. Review and align design choices to avoid redundant effort, support rationalization, out of the box principles and ensure that enterprise architecture standards are met. Other requirements as determined by the appropriate Client Group.

Typical tasks:

Performs business/system analysis and consulting for complex systems and integration.

Prepares high level designs, development specifications, estimates performance requirements and documentation for computer applications and systems.

Monitors schedules, deliverables and resources for projects and adjusts as required to ensure objectives are met based on project needs.

Provides technical input into business cases and manages internal projects and/or assists clients in developing business cases and managing their projects through the appropriate systems development life cycle (SDLC).

Performs general project consulting throughout the SDLC (pre and post business case). Maintains current knowledge of technical advancements as they pertain to application development and support.

Researches new methodologies, standards, guidelines and tools and recommends changes.

Provides business analysis and consulting services related to improving our clients' business processes and/or adapting them to changes.

Directing the day to day support and enhancements of computer systems and assisting clients in the effective use of their systems.

Develop and maintain corporate business and data models for AS-IS and TO-BE state ensuring accurate data and business rules are defined and applied.

Required Qualification of Freelancer:

The ideal candidate(s) will have the following:

Experience in developing and/or supporting applications software in a professional IT development environment. A recognized University Degree, majoring in Computer Science, with a minimum of three (3) years experience, OR - a recognized Technical Institute Diploma in Data Processing or a recognized University Degree in Administration, Commerce or Science/Engineering or Information Systems Professional (ISP) designation, with a minimum of four (4) years experience, OR - five (5) years experience.

Two (2) years experience in a senior role, with demonstrated proficiency within the specified technical environment and within the discipline of this engagement

Demonstrated ability and problem analysis/solving in the performance of developing and/or modifying software in multiple applications

Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with others

Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently while managing project and client expectations

Proven ability working towards tight timelines in a high stress environment

Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and coach others

Consistently demonstrates initiative and leadership

A thorough understanding of Enterprise Architecture principals (Togaf, Zachman, etc.)

Existing Oracle product suite knowledge is preferred

Experience within the Canadian Telecommunications Industry

A thorough understanding of and experience working with the Telemanagement Forum Frameworx suite of standards

Demonstrated ability to facilitate >10 integrations across a complex environment

Excellent facilitation of and the ability to influence/gain buy-in from teams

Ability to translate business needs to system solutions

Excellent ability to demonstrate professional diplomacy

Other skills that are desired include:

Experience in E-commerce platforms and technologies

Customer experience web based products

Oracle BSS product suite

Infrastructure and security standards and knowledge (network, server, storage,etc)

Call centre technologies particular to workload distribution

IP based services for Wireline technology
