Description

We a looking for a highly effective User Experience Researcher and Designer to work within an in-house web-development team. The team is in the process of transitioning the local authority's existing website to a fully mobile-responsive web-platform. This is a long program of work to improve existing online council services for residents and introduce a number of new services so that the web/mobile channel becomes the preferred means of contact for residents and the costs of operating existing channels can be reduced.

Our customers - residents, businesses, partners - expect to be able to access our services online whenever and wherever is convenient to them. We need to provide an excellent digital experience that is value for money and true to the customer's needs.
Experienced in user research methods and design techniques, you will be responsible for mapping and framing the online proposition and how this enables the wider service delivery to residents. This requires ongoing education of stakeholders and frequent outreach to resident groups.
The role would be very well suited to someone who enjoys balancing the strategic and the pragmatic. We are about the continuous delivery of consistent online products that our residents feel compelled to use.
As a Local Authority, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all of our staff, volunteers and contractors to uphold this commitment.
