Our client in the E-commerce and Digital industry require a proven Ruby Developer for an initial 6 month contract based in Leeds city Center.
The role of Developer within the DevOps environment is responsible for developing high quality software end to end; the incumbent will be involved in some aspects of design but primarily will be responsible for the delivery of code required by the design presented.
Skills Needed:
Ruby 1.9/2.0
Experience of automation technology.
Demonstrable Software Development experience, including TDD, version control (esp. git).
Sound understanding of scaling software.
Experience or knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies.
Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines
Puppet Enterprise/Open Source Puppet v3 & related technologies such as hiera and facter an advantage.
Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure
A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work
Pragmatic approach to problem solving
Other relevant experience would include: Linux, bash, pxe boot, RedHat, kickstart, networking, DNS.
Experience of automating IT infrastructure through API's is highly desirable
