Senior Software Developer

Description

The Senior Software Developer will work in a small team of remote engineers writing code for backend, frontend and operations automation for the new version of the software that is being developed from scratch. The role will include hands-on software development using modern tools and frameworks. There are plenty of problems to solve so the Senior Software Developer will get an opportunity to explore technologies for use in future development.

Skills & Requirements:

Required Skills

Languages: Javascript, Java

Moderate Comp. Sci. knowledge

Experience configuring/maintaining production Linux servers

Preferred Skills

Asynchronous programming experience (callbacks, promises, fibers/coroutines)

Other C-derived language experience

Some exposure to non-imperative programming, e.g. Lisp, Clojure, Erlang, F#, Scala, Haskell

Exposure to NoSQL DBs (e.g. CouchDB, MongoDB, Datomic, Cassandra)

Exposure to Numerical programming

Experience with AWS EC2, IAM, KMS or any other service

Automation software e.g. ansible, chef, puppet, salt

Key Experience

Candidates should have 2+ years professional experience as a programmer

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US or Canada

Process

Candidates will be interviewed via telephone

Second round interviews will include small projects that will be assigned via email
