Description

A leading bank, based in Manchester are currently in need of an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect to lead Desktop (End User Computing) Services (Desktop Delivery, Tablet, Mobile etc.) infrastructure design to define and realise multi-faceted service solutions taking complex ideas, objectives or problems and work them through to simple solutions based on agreed principles and patterns while recognising synergies and options. This is a long term contract role paying a very competitive daily rate. The successful candidate will need to have an excellent understanding of EUC Industry Best Practise (esp. Microsoft and Desktop Virtualisation products) with a strategic view of technological direction of travel

The successful candidate will also have the following:

Strong consulting and influencing skills, including excellent presentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at senior levels, both written and oral, within the business and IT & Strategy areas.

Experience of large scale (>£5M) projects with significant integration challenges. Deep understanding of integration approaches and technologies

Extensive experience of building infrastructure components on specifically on medium to large scale distributed projects specifically to deliver a modern desktop service solution to a financial services organisation

Recognised as an 'expert' by the organisation (up to and including Executives) in Desktop Architecture and Services

Excellent working knowledge with standard Desktop Service concepts and procedures particularly regarding deployment of infrastructure, Virtualisation hardware and software

Experience designing, installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex and large desktop service virtualisation solutions e.g. Citrix, VMWARE

A deep understanding of Microsoft Products and their Roadmaps:

MS Active Directory (AD)

MS SSCM

MS Windows 7, 8 &10

MS System Centre

MS SharePoint Server

MS Exchange Server

Understands business and IT - preferably from IT background

Passion for technology and works well in large organisations

Strong communication and influencing skills for dealing with internal management and teams, liaison with business partners and customers and external IT suppliers

A working knowledge of ITIL processes

A working knowledge of Project Delivery Methodology
