Senior Data Quality Business Analyst

My client is a market leader in the world of life and pensions and they are currently looking for an experienced Data Quality Business Analyst to join their team. They are offering an initial six month contract, excellent working environment and an exceptional daily rate for the right candidate.

What's the purpose of the role?

In a nutshell, to facilitate data quality monitoring and the maintenance of accessible, meaningful metadata in order to ensure that the standard of data is maintained and continually enhanced

What are your main responsibilities?

Data quality measures

Work with the business to develop measures which continually monitor data quality and usage, and to take appropriate remedial action when required

Develop, regularly review and maintain business metadata for published data sources, ensuring that it is meaningful to information workers

Liaise with the business and external data providers to identify root causes of poor data quality and to implement solutions and preventative measures

Develop and improve processes and procedures which maintain data quality, and to ensure that BAU processes are successfully executed

What experience will you need?
  • Experience of data analysis and data profiling
  • Experience of defining data quality rules and file formats
  • Experience of measuring data quality (e.g. Six Sigma), setting up data quality scorecards and using statistical methods to identify poor quality data
  • Experience of maintaining master data and referential data sets
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel
  • Experience of using SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, DQS, MDS) and writing SQL queries
  • Experience of ETL processes, data mapping and data harmonization
  • Experience of the data modelling process plus the SAS platform preferred
