For one of our clients we are looking for a Senior Lead Architect.
Start: ASAP
Length: 3 months with an option for extension
40 hours a week
Location: Eindhoven
Solution Governance
Work closely with assigned lead architect to improve the maturity of architecture services provided to our customer
Work closely with customer and internal organisation to ensure that the agreed (Enterprise) Infrastructure Architecture is implementable and remains fit for purpose at all times
Review new projects to ensure that maximum use is made of standardised solutions and that all infrastructure is cost effective and fit for purpose.
Support the workings of the Architecture Board (IAB) driving standards adoption and product currency across all platforms
Regularly review existing platforms and recommend improvements, as necessary, to promote standardisation and more optimal usage of infrastructure resources
Engage with project teams to support and provide input to the design of new services and solutions - ensuring operability in the production environments and adherence to technical standards and policies
Provide signoff for new solutions as part for the Transition and Change Management processes
Consultancy & Best Practice
Provide consultancy support to both customer and internal, as to promote the use of shared resources and common solutions
Develop best practice material for regular dissemination within the customer
Regularly review and propose improvements to operational processes & procedures
Stay fully engaged with developments in the market and promote new concepts and technologies with customer and internal, as and when appropriate to do so
Influence others with a fair and considered approach and present persuasive counter-arguments
Work towards mutually beneficial win/win outcomes
Show sensitivity and understanding in resolving acute and complex conflicts
Identify key stakeholders and gain their support in advance
Operational Support
Provide support and consultancy services as needed in response to operational incidents
Actively drive service delivery improvements
Support Incident and Problem Management teams to aid rapid service restoration
Qualifications/experience
10+ years' in depth experience working in an IT architecture or Platform Engineering role; five of which should have been at a Senior level
Recent exposure to IT infrastructure services within the R&D and/or Manufacturing Services industry
Experience of working within a large Global organisation within a multi-national company
Preferred experience of working within a co-sourcing service delivery model
Knowledge
University degree in Computer Science/System Architectures or equivalent experience, developed over an extended period
Exceptional influencing skills
Persuasive presentation skills
Supplier Management skills (ITIL Certification is a plus)
Fully proficient in English, both oral and written.
A good working knowledge of Business lead IT Strategies
A good understanding of developing market trends and concepts
Technical skills
An in depth working knowledge of core infrastructure technologies (Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, Virtualisation (VMWare), Databases (Informix, SQL, Oracle), Storage technologies (NetApp), Networking (Cisco)
Structured Analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
Technical Authoring
Infrastructure design, solution engineering and system implementation
Systems monitoring concepts and tools
Capacity, Performance and Availability Management
Commercial & Contractual considerations to be taken into account
Quality management and process improvement
A working knowledge of IT Finance
