Description

For a 6 month contract with continuation option we are looking for an experienced

Oracle Database Administrator on Unix/Linux (3606)

In this challenging role in the 'Database Oracle Operations' team you will provide 2nd and 3rd level support for Trading and Sales, Corporate, Retail and Private Banking Applications. You will also be responsible for the technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks for the Oracle databases.

You offer:
  • Experience in Oracle 11g and with Oracle DWH environments
  • 7 + years' experience in Oracle Database Administration on Unix/Linux platforms
  • Track record in bringing efficiency in day-to-day operations
  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively across cultures in a global environment
  • Skills in Oracle Parallel execution, Oracle multi-level partioning and Oracle Wait Events
  • Work experience in RMAN (restore/backup) in huge environments, as well as knowledge of copy/cloning techniques (e.g. transportable tablespaces, storage mirroring based DB clones)
  • PL/SQL and Korn-shell development skills
  • Practical experience with DB tuning/optimization in several terabyte applications
  • Some hands-on experience in Exadata infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is an advantage


The job in brief:
  • Upgrade and migration of Oracle databases and in taking care of configuration management and backup recovery
  • Database troubleshooting, tuning and query optimization
  • Participation in solving system and performance issues
  • Collaboration with other Oracle team members locally and globally
  • A good understanding of the business needs


Please be aware that this is a role within a sensitive environment. You'll have to undergo a background screening, which takes some additional time!
