Description

A SSRS Reports Writer is required for a 9 Month Contract based in Nottingham. The role will sit within the existing Analysis & Insight team within the department. The team is responsible for developing a new suite of bespoke reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) The team will also be responsible for testing pre-built statutory reports provided by the old system.
Job Purpose:

* Supporting the build of the technical server infrastructure
* Providing technical advice and expertise in how to maximise the opportunities the new BI tools offer (I.e. Visual Studio, Tableau, PowerPivot, SharePoint)
* Building technical SQL/SSRS reports against determined specifications
* Developing testing scripts and methodology to ensure accuracy of scripts
* Testing report functionality in the required environments
* Deploying reports in different environments
* Supporting testing and validation of in-built Liquid Logic reports to determine if they are fit for purpose
* Mapping the data fields in statutory returns reports to ensure fit for purpose
* Set up scheduling and automation routines for regular reporting
* Write (self-service) data quality reports to be built within system for practitioners to run
* Set up technical data extracts and linkages across a number of data sources to enable warehousing across multiple systems
* Develop reports for regular monthly/quarterly performance reporting
* Ensure all reporting documentation is up to date, in line with team standards and documented in plain English.
Person Specification required:

* Proven experience and advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting tools, particularly SSRS (knowledge of Tableau would be an advantage);
* Confident in reading and writing reporting scripts in SQL (using SSMS);
* Able to analyse complex datasets using a range of different appropriate methodologies, and construct rich and clearly articulated business intelligence;
* Engage appropriately and effectively with internal and partnership colleagues in order to specify needs and deliver high quality services;
* Experience of providing timely and accurate production of data that delivers complex performance indicators and statutory returns;
* Experience of identifying, designing and implementing data quality assurance procedures for internal and external application
