Description

Job Overview:
  • Join development team to develop and configure solution to migrate from LIMS SampleManager 2004 to LIMS SM11.
  • Configure workflows in LIMS SM11.
  • Develop solutions to migrate and transform static and dynamic data from SM2004 to SM11. Implement LIMS SM11 reports using Reports Templates.
  • Develop and manage code for new enhancements, bug fixes, and customizations in VGL and .net to on Thermo LIMS SM11 platform (all modules, including Stability, SM-IDI, LIMS reports)
  • Develop PL/SQL scripts to export and transform static and dynamic data from older LIMS platforms to LIMS SM11
  • Create, execute and oversee execution of development unit test cases and test scripts
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: technical requirements, SOPs, test scripts, traceability Matrix, analysis documents
  • Develop and support client and internal reporting requirements and systems
  • Prepare and maintain hardware and software for localized site installation
  • Support instrument integration development and mapping requirements
SKILLS:

Technical Requirements:
  • At least seven to ten years of development and support experience with industry standard LIMS systems (Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS 2004 and LIMS 11 experience strongly desired) including VGL, .NET, LIMS Reports
  • At least seven to ten years of development and support experience with PL/SQL and data migration
  • Familiar with LIMS Stability module
  • Technical understanding of Web Services technologies and the SOA technology stack - ESB, UDDI, etc.
  • Ability to grasp and translate complex business rules in to executable .NET, VGL code
  • Experience developing and/or supporting LIMS integrations: SM-IDI, Integration Manager, Instrument Integrations, Integration with Empower and NuGenesis
  • Ability to work directly and collaboratively with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Quality Assurance (QA) test teams to identify and troubleshoot issues to final resolution
  • Experience with relational database design and development in a RDBMS such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Application development and technical writing experience
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence and the ability to quickly diagnose and solve technical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new tools, technologies and techniques
  • Understanding of laboratory policies, procedures, methods, processes, and general laboratory concepts
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent in terms of education, training, and work experience
