Description

Come work at WeaveUp - a company that is bringing the power of technology to the world of fabric and design! We’re looking for self-motivated people who take a great deal of pride of ownership in their work, and are driven to build something amazing. Our roots are from one of the best fabric companies in the world, and our destiny is to be an amazing technology company. We’re looking for good developers and great people, not brogrammers, rock stars or ninjas (Note: If you are not a mercenary in feudal Japan, you are not a ninja). We are based in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, but open to working with great people wherever we can find them. Current WeaveUp employees are in North Carolina, Oregon, and Connecticut.

WeaveUp is seeking an experienced frontend-focused AngularJS developer to build and improve our web experience, and to be a foundational member of our company. Our technology stack is an Angular frontend talking to a Rails API backend, and you’ll be focusing on making the web side fast, performant and delightful!

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining our development team as we bring our product in-house - we've has been around two years, and our technology developed by a North Carolina consulting organization. They have given us a great start, now it’s time for us to take it and run with it. We’ll be continuing to grow our web experience to support new uses of WeaveUp, and to add new ways for our customers to express themselves in the physical world.

Things That Are Pretty Important To Us
  • Experience with AngularJS, preferably Angular version 1.
  • An ability to build and improve a REST/JSON API client (spoiler alert: one built in Angular).
  • Big ideas and a tiny ego - come in with your best ideas, but don’t take it personally if another idea is better.
  • A customer-first focus, and a willingness to step and hustle to make us a success. There is no “that’s not my job” at WeaveUp.
  • An ability to build delightful customer-facing interfaces that are fast and fun.
  • A high degree of pragmatism about the difference between “good” and “perfect,” with a bias toward shipping.
  • Testing experience to make the web portion of our application as rock-solid as it can be.

  • Things That Would Be Nice To Have
  • Experience or interest in Ruby and Rails, for that full-stack flavor.
  • Ability to debug API responses and help us find errors on the back end.
  • A willingness to make hair-extension jokes when people ask you what we do.
  • Enough DevOps to understand how a Rails app runs and what might break.
  • Knowledge about image processing, color matching and image compositing.
  • Ideas about caching and UI speed.
  • Enough of a design eye that you can help build a wonderful user experience.

  • Why WeaveUp?
  • Work on a product that has demonstrated value for customers, and help us take it to the next level!
  • A culture that values productivity, accountability and communication over politics, capital-P Process and micromanagement.
  • Seriously, we’ll treat you like an actual adult.
  • A collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to think and contribute outside of your proscribed role.
  • Management that is committed to supporting you as a person and a professional, and to building a diverse and respectful team that makes all of us stronger.
  • Take-it-when-you-need-it vacation policy and work-location flexibility.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, and the opportunity to get in early on an exciting product.
