Title: IBM Netcool Onmibus, Banking, Brussels
Bank in Brussels is looking for a consultant to be responsible for managing the IBM Tivoli Netcool OMNIbus environment enterprise-wide.
Role involves:
The day to day management of the IBM Tivoli Netcool OMNIbus product to ensure it functions as designed.
This includes working with various group designated champions to ensure maintenance of 100% visibility of the production environment at all times.
Staying up to date with all industry trends/best practices, as well as new product releases so that the bank can maintain a proactive 3-year systems management roadmap.
Ensuring proper documentation is maintained for all aspects of the Tivoli product suite.
Ensuring all third-party monitoring solutions that are integrated into Tivoli are properly documented and function as designed.
Continually working towards optimizing the automated event correlation capabilities.
Ensuring ITIL compliant framework is maintained with every aspect of the system management platform.
Skills required:
3 years or more of hands-on experience in managing for high availability of System Management Tools including:
o IBM Tivoli Netcool OMNIbus (this is essential)
o IBM Tivoli Netcool Impact (nice to have)
o IBM Tivoli Monitoring (nice to have)
Candidate needs to have:
- 2-3 years UNIX Shell and/or PERL Scripting skills.
- Experience building custom automations with OMNIBUS
- Experience building custom probe rules;
- Experience building custom Dashboards and Tools using OMNBUS and working with rules
- Nice to have experience building custom policies with Impact;
- Ability to translate user requirements to technical solutions;
- Comfortable in various platforms like Linux, and Windows;
- Experience in building custom reports with TCR (Tivoli common reporting based on Cognos reporting);
- Ability to apply knowledge of tools to create sustainable solutions which also follow enterprise standards;
- Ability to utilize advanced systems, Scripting and developer skills to develop methodologies; able to implement, integrate, and maintain new and emerging enterprise-wide systems software technology components;
- ITIL framework certification or experience is a plus;
This is an English speaking role.
