PRINTFLIX Print PLUS Video is a creative design and marketing company located in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are looking for an absolute Drupal Guru to help us repair some legacy coding errors on two web sites. After these issues are addressed, that person will then take over the responsibility of programming and maintaining these two domains and several others. We are a young company with a bright future. In true Las Vegas fashion, we are betting big that our web presence will generate the awareness and leads for the products that we manufacture. We have already produced finsihed products for the Chicago Blackhawks hockey franchise and the rock band, Matchbox 20. We are currently in the process of working with world reknown rapper and entrepreneur, Jay-Z.BACKGROUND
PRINTFLIX (www.printflix.net), manufactures print collateral with embedded video players. Printers produce traditional brochures, business cards, books, postcards, etc. PRINTFLIX makes brochures, business cards, books and many other producys with an thin video player inserted between the pages. When you open one of our brochures, video plays immediately and the end user is treated to both a video and print presentation right in the palm of their hands. We have been working on this technology for 6 years now and hold several patents on the technology. We hope to expose our products to marketing and promotional products professionals via our wholesale distribution programs and sell our keepsake products directly to consumers via our direct sales channel. We are working with bridge financing now but are in the process of closing on our first round of equity financing. So it's a good time to come aboard and help us move this business forward. The person slected for this project will be integral to the success of the company.
REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking individuals who have extensive knowledge of module development and customization, eCommerce, Services and API Integration, Views, Features, Context, Display Suite, Search API and Field Collections.
One of our domains (www.printflx.com) is a back end CRM and Sales tool used almost exclusively for internal data collection. It is curently running too slow to be of any use to us and we need help making it run at an efficient speed to be of any use to us. Just to get to a log-in page, the site can take up to 70 to 80 seconds to load. Many of the issues related to the site point to an improperly configured and inefficient SQL database now running on a dedicated GoDaddy server using Apache. Memcache is enabled but is a older version and therefore doesn't leverage the latest versions of Drupal. GoDaddy claims that the latest build is still Beta and has a strict policy of never implementing Beta candidates on any of its servers. They want us to wait before upgrading. GoDaddy tried twice to optimize the database and twice we lost critical tables. Go Daddy claims that those tables were corrupt which is why their back-up software failed to fully capture the database prior to optimization. We also speculate that the site is vulnerable to malware and other malicious attacks and need someone with advanced knowledge to tighten security so we can put these concerns to bed. Our development team for the pas three years was a company in India and was led by one particular Programmer. The relationship has ended well and the company has generously volunteered to make this programmer available for as much consultation as required during the transition phase. There is still much to do on this site so the goal would be to first untangle the performace issues that have been plaguing us and then move on to new development.
Our other primary Drupal site can be found at www.printflix.net and its our front end. Most of the Drupal coding is designed to allow our graphics people the ability to make routine updates but there is one component of the site in serious need of support. We call this component, the Shop. It's were end-users can go to design a Print Plus Video product by uploading images and videos into web templates. The performace of this particular component is extremely poor and functions differently dependent upon which browser you are using. The same Indian development team will assist in the turnover.
