Duration: ASAP start for 1 year contract

Location: Brussels

Languages: Candidate must have Fluent French + English (Dutch is a plus)

Job description

The mission of the Capacity Manager is to make sure that the required infrastructure capacity for running the bank's applications is guaranteed, at the right time and in a cost effective way, and in coherence with the bank's policies/requirements.

Global Capacity Management needs to match the capacity of the IT services and infrastructure to the current and future identified needs of the business.

Global Capacity Management focuses on the complete spectrum from design and planning of service capacities through the operational aspects of service capacity.

As a result of the successful implementation of the Capacity Management process, the organisation will take benefit from the following improvements:

  • IT has always the capacity to meet the expected (agreed) current and future identified needs of the business
  • Scalability requirements of the business are understood and accommodated
  • The cost of capacity acquisition is reduced by planning and optimizing capacity usage.
  • IT avoids Incidents caused by lack of capacity

The candidate will evolve in a small team environment with a central position, communicating and collaborating with most IT stakeholders according to the principle of virtual team.

Principal assignments

  • Collect data from activities, incidents, releases, events related to performance and infra capacity to be able to create an overall view of guaranteed infra capacity for the different IT domains.
  • Collect performance and capacity data from Capacity Analysts in the different technical domains or from the external supplier. Make descriptions of monitoring and reporting needs towards external suppliers.
  • Create and present monthly service capacity reports for critical services based on infrastructure performance monitoring towards the functional domains.
  • Forecast the required evolution of the infra assets and develop a forecasting model based on the historical data and business projections.
  • Establish and maintain KPI's
  • Define and follow-up actions in case of capacity incidents and problems
  • Key actor in defining/evolving Technical Capacity Management processes using ITIL principles and enforce application of the processes in the IT domain.
  • Expert contribution to select and set-up a Capacity Management Information System (CMIS) tool.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Keep the business informed of the capacity status of the critical services
  • Contribute to the TCM process in order to fulfil the TCM mission and business requirements
  • Contribute to a proactive management of the infra capacity by defining appropriate actions in case of incidents, highlighting unusual behaviour, etc.
  • Create a forecast on infra capacity needs towards the external supplier
  • Contribute to the establishment of an effective relationship with the bank's external supplier responsible for the Data Centres and the IT infrastructure

Experience:

Master or Bachelor Degree, preferably with technical orientation (mathematics/physics/engineer )

Knowledge of ITIL

Technical experience:

  • Experience of Infrastructure Capacity Management (ITIL TCM process).
  • Experince of modelling Forecast mechanisms
  • Experience with professional CMIS tools.
  • Knowledge of multiple infrastructure platforms
  • Experience in working with an external supplier for Infrastructure Management services
