Our client is an upper tier local authority, with county-wide responsibility for education services.
We have been asked to recruit a MOODLE ( Modular Object Oriented Developmental Learning Environment) Developer -Consultant to provide secure, online environments for learning for early years providers, schools, colleges and training establishments across the county.
Main duties of the role are to:
- Carry out a system assessment on use, capacity and stability
- Advise and implement best practice configuration for continued stability
- Advise on design and migration options including hosting platform architecture
- Advice and deployment of a migration from 1.9.18 to 2.7 or above
- Support the transfer of knowledge to ICT and system admin staff
- Advise on options to host on target platform Azure
- Implement any recommendations around upgrades or system configuration
- Document the assessment and key configurations
Essential qualifications and skills include:
- Moodle System expert knowledge coupled with and understanding of platform infrastructure
- Ability to analyse system functionality and inform key design options
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical options in a report
- Make sound and informed recommendations on system upgrade/futures and be able to implement them
- Support any Moodle upgrade activity and be able to mentor and carry out effective knowledge transfer
- Experience of multi tenancy Moodle environments
