Graduate Accounts Analyst, Asset Management, Graduate, 6months London

My Client an Asset Management Company is looking to appoint a enthusiastic Accounts Analyst to join their team in London on an initial 6 month contract. This role will appeal to an individual who is looking to establish a banking Career.

The successful person will be responsible for maintaining accounting records relating to a specific group of mutual fund, separate account, commingled trust and/or limited partnership entities in accordance with department policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for performing some or all of the following Middle Office functions for a series of assigned institutional investment portfolios: Custodian bank reconciliations (cash, asset and market value), analysis, break assignment and resolution of reconciliation breaks, daily portfolio valuation processes, account level pricing, net asset valuation calculations (NAV), monthly accounting close processes, cash projection reports, cash management support, monthly end-client statement workflow and validation, and ad hoc reporting.

This job will interact with various financial institutions globally (ie custodian banks, asset managers, securities lending agents, etc.). The job will also interact with various operational functional teams across the company (ie, corporate actions, pricing, income, etc.). Internal teams are located worldwide in the America's, EMEA and APAC, and it is critical that incumbents in this job communicate effectively with all these internal teams.

The Account Analyst will maintain the following skills required by the Account Analyst:

The Analyst will also demonstrate the following additional skills to successfully perform this role:

  • Begin to support more complex accounts and respond to more complex client inquiries.
  • Provide support to other team members by answering questions and providing guidance.
  • Help other teams when possible.
  • Attend client meetings as required.
  • Offer potential solutions and help execute client requests.
  • Work more independently on executing daily deliverables.

Minimum experience, skills, certifications and academic background necessary to perform the position:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within set deadlines.
  • Ability to provide support to other team members by answering questions and offering guidance.
