Description

Role Purpose

The Global Finance Transformation Programme (the Programme) will deliver an integrated global set of processes and systems spanning Financial Analysis and Reporting (FP&A), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) and Finance Operations (Fin Ops).

The Global Finance Fin Ops & FAR SME will provide design input and subject matter expertise to facilitate the definition of Fin Ops/FAR future state processes. This includes owning key documentation, capturing regional and global requirements, and working with third parties and my Client's stakeholders to ensure the future state processes meet my Client's needs and are consistent with the design principles and stated outcomes.

Fin Ops covers the L3 and L4 processes of Financial Operations; this role will focus on Payments and Settlements, including the hand-offs and touch points to Global Treasury, Bank Reconciliations and Account Reconciliations. It is anticipated that this role will also provide design input and support for the FAR L3 and L4 Financial Close, Consolidation and General Accounting set of processes.

Duties

  • Contribute and lead (where required) the design of complex, global Finance process solutions
  • Working with Global and Regional SMEs to facilitate the gathering of Fin Ops and FAR process requirements, as well as securing alignment and timely decision making in line with the programme schedule
  • Facilitates global fit/gap workshops, and works collaboratively with the regions to achieve a standard, consistent process model
  • Identify regional variations to the processes and either standardise these, or ensure they can be catered for
  • Identify the control points in the process and feed in to the Control Framework
  • Facilitate the implementation of the global Fin Ops and FAR processes
  • Understand implications the transitions states have on the successful implementation of the global process
  • Develop detailed key design decision (KDD) proposals for submission to the Design Authority
  • Contribute to the relevant global working groups that oversee the evolution of the proposed designs

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Qualified accountant with insurance accounting expertise
  • Multiple project life cycle experience of the design and implementation of processes
  • Ability to articulate and shape key design proposals for areas of high complexity
  • Ability to lead and influence a diverse mix of global stakeholders
  • Ability to focus on the areas that really matter and make robust judgements, which stand up to management scrutiny
  • Broad experience of current and emerging allocations, adjustments and calculation model requirements in Insurance
  • Finance systems experience, especially designing and deploying innovative Oracle solutions
