Description
For one of our global clients we are looking for a senior MS SQL database administrator (DBA) for its IT Infrastructure team. The DBA should have at least five years' MS SQL Server experience (ideally Certified). As a database administrator you must also have a strong track record in writing and installing scripts for database administration tasks, such as backups and capacity monitoring.
We would also expect you to have the following core technical skills
* Strong MS SQL 2012 product knowledge.
* Write technical documents
* Building severs and databases to global standards
* Extensive performance & tuning experience
* An understanding of the MS BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
* An understanding of Data warehouse technologies
* An understanding of fault-finding database client connectivity
* An understanding of database security and auditing
* An understanding of network, concurrent access and locking issues.
* An understanding of database logging and recovery and how to recover from the various failure scenarios.
The following technical skills are desirable:
* Strong knowledge and experience with database security (in particular database encryption technology, but also procedures around that, like Segregation of Duties and Key Management)
* A good understanding of Sybase ASE 15 in a multi-platform (UNIX and Linux) environment.
* Unix Shell Scripting
* Experience performing server consolidation
* Administration of databases in a Storage Area Network environment
