Description
Front-End Developer
WARPAINT Media is hiring a new front-end web developer. We are a small, agile firm, working on web projects in a modern development environment. Our clients often choose us because we take a fresh approach to everything we do, but we also provide future-proof solutions and options that are forward-thinking. To put this in perspective, we have been using SVGs for all our designs in early 2013, built our own content management system to suit client needs, have insisted on cross-browser/device responsiveness since day one, and have advocated for the most up-to-date versions of all the software we use.
We are looking for someone who might call themselves a “devsigner” -- someone who can design, but also code. This position is a more focused on web development than graphic design, since we have dedicated designers. But we give the frontend developers a lot of freedom to build things the way they like. Why? Because you’re the expert.
This role includes converting PSD/AI/Sketch designs to HTML/CSS/JS. The front-end developer is responsible for choosing tools/frameworks that support mobile and responsive design. Then we usually integrate the resulting template into our own CMS or the CMS chosen for the project. This usually means the front-end developer would be responsible for creating the “theme” for the CMS. An ideal candidate will be comfortable understand basic PHP and HTML templates (Laravel Blade).
This position is contract-to-hire (we are flexible). We offer competitive pay, great benefits, and a fun, flexible, fast-paced work environment, as well as the freedom to experiment with new frameworks and tools. We also provide and/or cover the cost of any software needed to complete the work (Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, etc.)
Please include your salary expectations, availability, and samples of your work.
