Description

Summary:
  • The selected candidate will work as a member of the Information Technology (IT) Architecture Group as a Solution Architect and is responsible for the technology design and deliverables of the Critical Path to Improving Customer Satisfaction Program -Enterprise Document Composition Track.
  • This project is foundational in creating one brand customer experience across all web sites, customer interactions, bills, and correspondence including single process transactions, common language look and feel, new designs for bills and correspondence and other elements that pertain to the new brand.
  • The goal of this Program and track is to provide a solution that enterprise clients use to create, manage and deliver both electronic and print deliverables to customers and business partners. 

Project Specific Role:

  • The Solution Architect (SA) will work closely with the lead Program Solution Architect, IT Lead, and the Project Manager of this specific track to organize the development effort and deliver technical solutions that satisfy the projects business objectives.
  • The SA ensures that IT solutions meet current and proposed architecture standards, develops conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cross-functional design solutions and determines the application and technology requirements.
  • The designs are reviewed with the lead SA and other SA peers in the architecture group and presented to both the project steering committee and IT management at large.
  • The SA collaborates with the Business Solutions Analyst (BSA) to determine the non-functional requirements of the solution, including availability and scalability.
  • The SA assists with all phases of the track including design, build, test, and implementation.
Primary Job Functions for the SA:
  • Provide architectural leadership on the design and development of a document composition solution for the Customer Experience program.
  • Drive the translation of the business client's complex business problems into the selected technology solutions by designing complete solutions that leverage various IT services components.
  • Researches possible solutions and alternatives for implementation of the project technology applications, business process and technical problems, problems, performs an analysis of alternatives, and leads the recommendation to a solution
  • Coordinates and develops systems integration designs for the project, including high-level and detailed system, application and technology diagrams.
  • Aligns the selected technology solutions with the technical architecture, operational processes and life cycle processes.
  • Ensures that the IT solution fits with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards as well as IT strategies and IT product roadmaps.
  • Creates solution architecture documentation and deliverables throughout the project life cycle of the solutions.
  • Ensure that the project infrastructure is supportable and can be transitioned smoothly into production support organizations.
  • Works with 3rd party vendors to ensure that deliverables are completed on-time and under budget.
Additional job functions expected for this project:
  • Work with the Program team to complete Integration Agreements and Technical Requirement documents for services being designed and developed as part of this track.
  • Collaborate with data architects, infrastructure architects, and other portfolio/program architects across the organization to ensure the proposed solution aligns closely with the portfolio/enterprise level architecture.
  • Be an IT liaison between various vendors engaged with and business staff for the project.
  • Manage that IT tasks are being completed on a timely basis according to project timeline. This may include tasks such as procuring and configuration of Servers, attending Change Control management meetings, developing implementation plans, etc.
SKILLS:

Experience/Skills:
  • Candidate must have previous experience with the design and implementation of a document composition solution at an enterprise level for a mid-size to large organization.
  • Candidate should have experience in integrating Back Office applications with package and software as a service based software solutions.
  • Experience with deployment and implementation of Software as a Service solutions.
  • This position requires an extensive background in information technology along with excellent interpersonal, research, analysis, and communication skills.
  • The individual must be comfortable working across business and IT product center domains and be able to demonstrate the ability to easily shift between technical analysis and business value discussions.
  • Requires knowledge of systems development methodologies and systems integration methodologies.
  • Requires knowledge of business application technical design and implementation.
