Senior Project Manager

Description

• This position supports the delivery of project services within the Network Services area.
• Need a manager for the increased volume of work
• Managing multiple projects at one time, some new some old
• Scope management
  o Creates a scope that is accepted by all project stakeholders
  o Manages changes to scope according to PMI standards and specific practices
• Financial management
  o Develop and maintains a budget for the project
  o Manages changes to the budget according to PMI standards and specific practices
  o Orders all equipment, circuits and professional services needed to complete a project
  o Able to provide financial summary reporting related to the work being done in the Network Services area.
• Schedule management
  o Develops and maintains a schedule to ensure timely completion of project.
  o Manages changes to the schedule according to PMI standards and specific practices
• Risk, Issue and Change management
  o Develops and maintains risk, issue and change logs
  o Develops and maintain risk and issue strategies
  o Reports on risks, issues and changes according to PMI standards and specific practices
• Resource management
  o Assembling project team
  o Assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability
  o Communicating with resource managers about duration of assignments and changes to requirements
• Document management
  o Maintains standard project management documentation and metrics
• General role expectations
  o Able to work independently and escalate issues and risks in an appropriate manner.
  o Identifies and champions work efficiencies that result in service improvements as well as hours and dollars savings.
  o Builds strong relationships with the various Technology teams engaged on a daily basis.
  o Understands the Network Services products and service offerings and is able to connect clients with key SME's.
  o Celebrates Accomplishments: Celebrates, either formally or informally, the accomplishment of goals.
  o Engages Others: Engages others in the attainment of the vision for the future. Influences others by enthusiastically sharing the future vision as a means for them to attain their goals.

• PMP certification, completed or pursuing, MS Project intermediate, MS Excel intermediate
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
• 7-10 years of project management experience
• Strong background within infrastructure (networks, security devices, circuits, etc.) required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish alliances with other departments and organizations through recognition of dependencies, driving partnership and commitment to the program.
• Solid foundation in using the Microsoft Office suite to produce the metric and status reporting required.
• Excel skills need to be at an intermediate or above level.
• MS Project skills need to be at an intermediate or above level.
• MS Project and Office Suite- intermediate
• Need PM experience
• Understanding of network infrastructure would be helpful
• Would take someone with less than 7 years of experience
• Communication skills are key
• Does not have to have a PMP certification as long as they have the experience and are able to lead and advise project owners on what to do.
• Industry experience is not important
