Iseries Developer, AS400
About the role
Work will involve acquiring knowledge from the existing team, and building up a good working knowledge of the current iSeries applications and interfaces. The role will involve close working with the Opticians development and Application Support teams as well as other IT service teams. Some out of hours support/standby may also be required.
In the role you will be required to provide technical support and development services for core iSeries hosted applications used to run key business processes including sales processing, ordering and initiating of customer contact. The iSeries system interfaces with a number of external systems eg SAP, Informatica Data Quality, Abacus, Unica and the role will involve support for these interfaces. Work will involve monitoring of daily/weekly processes, migration of customers/stores between Opticians practices, investigating and addressing problems with batch processing. We are in the process of building up knowledge in our application support team so the role will also include knowledge transfer and automation of regular activities to enable them to be carried out by less experienced team members.
You must be happy to work in Nottingham there may be Out of hours work but this isn't confirmed as of yet. If you cannot start immediately we will not be able to consider you.

Essential Technical Skills:
iSeries Development and Application Support - RPG, RPGLE, RPG IV/ILE (Free Format), programming language code techniques, SQL. iSeries version V7R1.
Experience of SQL Server DTS/SSIS and Business Objects (currently on v6, moving to XI v4)
Desirable Skills
