Job Mission
As a Software Function Cluster Architect you will be responsible for specification of the software functionality and technical guidance of product realization. Simultaneously you organize a software technology roadmap (and its updates). Furthermore, you identify and demonstrate the relevance of the roadmap options towards key stakeholders. You do this the context of the cluster as identified in the functional breakdown. Together with the engineering team you work on the contribution of your function cluster to the business success of metrology products and holistic lithography solutions as a whole.
Job Description
You will be responsible for the specification, verification and validation of the cluster software architecture for the metrology machines. The core of your work is a translation of the overall (Sub-)system Design into a cluster software architecture that meets associated requirements.
You will collect and agree on all the specifications, create the budgets associated with functional and non-functional requirements (such as resource usage, cost of goods, maintainability, and availability). If needed, you will negotiate with other clusters and even other projects to optimize the specifications. Technical decisions include variation points on cross-product, cross-platform aspects, and application of state of the art software technologies where businesswise appropriate.

To achieve your mission, you initiate regular architecture meetings to analyze issues and to support, steer, and plan solutions. If needed, you update the cluster software technology roadmap. A 1st year contribution as developer in a function cluster team enables you to prepare for this role.
Main Responsibilities
- Defines and maintains function cluster software technology roadmap
- Collects, challenges, and documents functional and non-functional requirements to be addressed in software
- Defines a software architecture by means of which the requirements can be met
- Guides the software developers in the construction of software within the established architecture
- Vendor selection for off-the-shelf software products.
- Aligns fit of technical solutions across the clusters
- Assessment of functional and integration risks
Education
Bachelor or Master in computer science, informatics, mathematics, physics, or electronics.
Experience
- 10 years in development of technical software
- Plus 2 years in software architecture.
