Computer Room Systems Administrator - Belgium
Languages: ENGLISH &/or FRENCH
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in integrated operational environments running on a combination of Unix and Windows Servers, including systems utilities such as Networker backup and restore, Control-M automated job scheduling is mandatory
- Hands-on experience of administration of backup tapes
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Solaris, Windows Server
- Experience of troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Experience in writing a working documentation of technical procedures
- Aptitude for team-work in an operational environment
- Ability to follow written procedures and to report any anomaly to Supervisor
Description of work:
- To monitor IT systems to detect problems by carrying out day-to-day checks in accordance with the schedule
- To identify sources of incidents and make first-line analysis of any problems for discussion with Supervisor
- To collaborate in the implementation of new job groups in the production schedule
- To analyse and implement restore requests
- Administration of backup tapes
- Interface with external tape storage company
- Maintaining the supplies for Computer Room stock
- Acting as deputy in case of absence of another member of the team
