Senior Finance Manager CCAB - Crown Commercial Service

A Senior Finance Manager with strong relationship management, proven experience in a Business Partner role, and ideally a Qualified Accountant is required to work on a 3 month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Government Agency client based in Liverpool and London.

Key Requirements

  • Strong relationship management and proven experience in a Business Partner role
  • Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of challenging and influencing Directors/Senior managers Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint. CODA would be advantageous but not essential
  • As a Finance Business Partner provide advice, support and challenge to both Operational Management and SMT efficiently and frequently
  • Provide training/coaching to Operational management team and SMT as required.
  • Position the role of Business Partner as an integral part of the management team by developing effective working relationships, influencing and challenging the senior management team and the development and delivery of their people plans in support of the achievement of the business area and HR strategies.
  • Provide advice, support and challenge on performance, budgetary and business improvement initiatives and investment appraisal within the business.
  • Identify short, medium and long term finance risks and issues.
  • * Contribute to the delivery, distribution and challenge the business area on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Support, coach and mentor the finance team
  • Provide both transformational advice and transactional support in order to improve cost and efficiency, clarify accountabilities and empower delivery of great customer service.
  • Proactively gain key client feedback to aid finance & performance functions to improve service levels and alert teams where an issue/project may impact on other areas.
  • Identify gaps in existing finance policies and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures. Consult and deliver new/amended policies and procedures into the business area.
  • Working in partnership with the business areas to create a quality business planning process where key indicators are set, agreed, reviewed and revised accordingly in line with business planning process.
  • Ensure all business areas are clear on CCS wide objectives, developing business plans and strategic planning for business areas in line with the Annual budgeting targets.
  • Provide an effective budgeting and forecasting service to operational management and the SMT.
  • Proven experience of delivering a Business Partner role
  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within Finance and the rest of the business
  • Experience of effective challenging and influencing at senior manager/Director level - Challenge the Status Quo. Experience of managing significant organisational change and of developing Finance strategy in line with business needs
  • Proven experience of managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives
  • Demonstrate evidence of influencing and coaching skills
  • Experience of engaging teams in financial information providing training and awareness
  • An up to date understanding of accounting standards
  • Strong leadership and management development experience
  • Qualified Accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
