Description

A global biopharmaceutical organisation is currently at the early stages of a new build Biotech Facility in Dublin to direct lead the selection, development and delivery of an MES Solution.



Currently moving into construction phase and in late design, they are seeking a MES Technical Lead for an initial 12 month contract, but with work running on thereafter to project completion.



Position Summary [1] 



The incumbent will. The successful applicant will develop and implement an MES solution in line with S95 standards for the plant, build an MES team(outsourced front end, in house for EBR authoring), and manage the delivery of robust, compliant and cost effective MES Solution in line with agreed timelines for this key capital project.

 

Principal Responsibilities [2]



- Contribute to/Lead selection process for MES platform

- Contribute to/Lead implementation of MES solutions utilizing agreed MES platform

- Define MES solution architectures and develop detailed design specifications in line with S95 standards.

- Proactively engage with customers in order to define the overall technical approach for MES solutions

- Provide technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of MES solution development project

- Actively participate on the Technical Project Team

- Provide expert knowledge and experience in order to successfully implement complex MES solution

- Troubleshoot MES software issues and propose / make the appropriate design documentation redlines

- Actively participate in meetings involving project planning, scope development, design, qualification, and administration

- Support the training of key Commissioning & Manufacturing Team User



Requirements



-  Industry experience in software development, programming, or engineering discipline

- Experience in programming MES systems

- Experience with ISA S95 standards – particularly with standards associated with Level 3 & Level 4 Systems

- Experience with MES Systems (PasX, Emerson Syncade, etc.)

- Experience with Process Control Systems – Preferred but not required (DeltaV)

- Software skills in software design, methodology, and architecture

- Exposure to enterprise level large-scale applications

- Experience with SQL programming and databases

- Experience in multi-threaded applications development

- Strong exposure to MES technologies, including automated data collection, historian applications, visualization, quality and efficiency in manufacturing, SCADA, automated decision control, workflow, database applications, scheduling, and interface to ERP systems

- Experience in the implementation of a risk based validation approach as per ASTM E2500– Preferred but not required

- Demonstrated ability to build, organize and lead the MES Development process for a major capital project, and to develop team members in the organization.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be required.

- Degree level qualification in Science or Engineering or equivalent
