My amazingly awesome client in Downtown Philly is looking for Sr. DevOps Engineer to join their team for a long term contract.
Job Summary:
Contractor will part of the Engineering & Operations team responsible for defining, developing and managing products related Usage Management product.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work in a DevOps team to define, develop, maintain and support applications and services related to Usage Management product
- Define and conform to continuous deployment and continuous integration practices
- Participates in various aspects of product development life cycle including architecture, development, deployment, configuration, launch and operational support phases
- Analyzes data sets to understand impacts, risks and identifies trends
- Monitor reporting/alarming tools, KPIs, identifying issues, errors, inconsistencies, anomalies, etc. to ensure optimal system health
- Utilizes Social Media to understand trends, identify potential service degradation based on customer complaints, and engages customers to answer/resolve questions and or issues
- Experience performing daily defect triage and review with multiple teams, including management through the defect life cycle
- Attend Scrum meetings, sprint planning sessions, follow Agile methodologies
- Keep documentation up to date, including M&Ps, design documents, wiki documents
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas, analysis, issues to team, stakeholders, and management
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
Skill Sets Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science
- Generally requires 5 to 10 years of related experience in the following areas:
- Linux (Redhat or CentOS) systems administrator
- Linux performance tuning, patching vulnerabilities, identifying security risks, etc
- Web Applications & APIs: (Tomcat, NGINX, Apace Web Server, NodeJS)
- Supporting automated build and instance configuration platforms using tools (Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Hudson)
- Network and Web protocols: TCP/DNS/SNMP/HTTP/SSL/SSH
- Application and Network Troubleshooting
- Alarming and Monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Sensu or similar
- Databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra or Hadoop
- Experience managing and using common revision control systems (Git, SVN)
- Deploy services to virtual environments such as Openstack, VM Ware, etc
- Scripting (Shell, Python or Ruby)
- Experience with administration and reporting with Splunk Enterprise
- Experienced in Agile and or related iterative SDLCs
